Welcome to Fresh Start Farm

Piglets enjoying spring grass after a mud bath.

Life happens.  Everyone knows that.  Fresh Start Farm started as a dream come true.  A dream that required hard work and long hours, but a dream that we were proud of.

After a terrible car accident, a miscarriage, and my father winding up in the emergency room, though, the hard work and long hours became too much with everything else going on.  Mending and healing our bodies and souls needed to take top priority.
A smaller herd for easier management.

The farm was put on hold and chores became basic animal care.  Grass became overgrown, gardens became little more than towers of weeds, and fence lines became a mess.  Although we needed the brake to take care of ourselves, I was not proud of the state of Fresh Start Farm.

And, yet, isn't that the whole point of this farm:  to offer a fresh start.  To say that life can always have a second chance, or a third, or a fourth, or more if needed.  Having another go a fresh start, is always an option.

It might not be easy.  It might not be pretty.  But, by golly, there can always be a fresh start.  That is the point of this blog.  I am going to document the journey to getting Fresh Start Farm back to its high ground and post tips, marketing techniques, awesome recipes, and any other fun facts I learn along the way.
